go hand in hand. It's that time of year a-gain! Yes, the pumpkin pie march is just around the corner and the gut waits in gurgling gla gla for its annual expansion.
So, what can be done about this? Well, that's easy enough. DON'T OVER-EAT! Yeah right. Who is really that self-aware over the holidays?
There are ways to avoid that holiday gut expansion. Of course, first and foremost get regular exercise. Just because it's cold outside doesn't mean you sit and roll about inside the house on your blubber (like I usually do). We cannot allow the winter season to keep us grounded! In addition to physical activity, EXERCISE CONTROL. That doesn't mean give up all the goodies that come with this season. It just means eat less of it. One or maybe 2 (depending upon what we're talking about here) servings should suffice. You can keep the traditions without becoming a beached whale with no where to go.
I'm preachin' to the choir here people. I have a record. I AM THE COOKIE MONSTER.
Anyway, back to green tea. First of all, I've never really cared for green tea. I've tried, really I have. Just the sound of it sets my gag reflex. Everyone in my family drinks green tea. It's a religion back home. That's probably why they are so thin. (Nutt jobs.) Most of the green tea that I've tried tastes like hay water. I hate it. God Bless her, my sister-in-law Sonya isn't a tea drinker either -- at least the last time I heard. (I hope she hasn't converted.)
Coffee drinkers won't hesitate to slap you across the face if you even hint at tea as the other option. If you're a coffee drinker, you can still drink tea and visa versa (you tea freaks). There are different kinds of green tea. I would suggest drinking the organic version. You can also find flavored green teas, if you're leary of the straight stuff. I might recommend Good Earth brand organic teas, which can be found in most supermarkets.
It is important to note that if you are not a tea drinker like me, then you have to get an acquired taste for it. I've heard many people testify that after getting into the habit of drinking green tea, they decide they love it! So, I'm gonna give this "green" stuff a third chance.
Long story short -- GREEN TEA boosts your metabolism and chocked full of antioxidants that are even supposed to ward off cancer and heart disease. So, that being said, 2 cups of the stuff daily should help stave off diseases and unwanted holiday blub. Have a cup mid-morning and mid-afternoon before dinner. If you don't believe me, Google it. You'll find all kinds of info about Green Tea.
Happy Holidays Everyone!!!
